Saudi Arabia Donates Dates To Vulnerable Groups, Hospitals In Kano

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has donated a total of 3000 cartons of dates to vulnerable groups and hospitals in Kano State.
The gesture is part of the Kingdoms commitment to promoting stronger bilateral relationship with the state, including the region.
The humanitarian gesture is implemented by the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aids.
Speaking at the occassion which took place at the Kano State Government House, the Consulate General of the Kingdom, Khalil Ahmad said the Centre has been providing humanitarian aids to Nigeria in various fields among which included last years feeding initiative, where 48,300 people received food baskets in Kano, Yobe and Borno State in the amount of $500,000.
He added that , The Center carried out a medical diagnosis campaign in Abuja, Kano and Lagos as part of its efforts to fulfill its humanitarian and pioneering role at the international level, as well as its commitment to the humanitarian principle, which focused on alleviating the suffering of all afflicted people.

“The delivery of these dates is part of the humanitarian and relief aid provided by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, may Allah protect him, to a number of friendly countries, including Nigeria, so that it can reach families in need around the world. This and more represents the Kingdoms commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between our two countries at all levels.
“The Kingdom is committed to continuing to provide all necessary relief and humanitarian assistance to Nigeria for the benefit of the brotherly and friendly Nigerian people, he stressed.
He therefore prayed Allah to protect the rulers and grant blessing of security and further progress and prosperity for the Nigerian people and their government, especially the government of Kano State and its noble people.
On his part, Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf who flagged off the distribution of the donated dates thanked King Salman Humanitarian Relief Centre for the continued support of the state.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, the Governor prayed that the bilateral relations between the two countries will prosper while tasking the committee saddled with the responsibility to distribute the dates accordingly.
