Obaseki, Umahi commended for intervention on Ekpoma-Abuja federal highway

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki and the Minister of Works and Housing, David Umahi, have been commended for intervention in the deplorable condition of Ekpoma – Abuja federal highway.

The state Commissioner for Roads and Bridges, Ethan Uzamere, gave the commendation while speaking with Journalists in Benin on the present state of the road. According to Uzamere, Governor Obaseki intimated the Umahi of the deplorable state of the road during a closed door meeting while on an inspection of some of the ongoing federal road projects in the state.  

Uzamere added that while addressing the media at the end of the fruitful meeting, the Minister commended the governor for the high standard of some projects he saw that his administration is executing adding that, he is not cutting corners to make sure that the best and most desirable is what is available for the people of the state.

He disclosed that a comprehensive plan had been proposed to alleviate the ongoing challenges, adding that a phased approach would be implemented.  

The Commissioner further promised that efforts would be directed towards engaging relevant authorities and community stakeholders to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted execution of the proposed improvements.

Uzamere said the collaborative approach was aimed at addressing the long-standing issues on Ekpoma Road for the benefit of the community.
