Messi breaks two records after Inter Miamis latest victory

Inter Miami superstar, Lionel Messi, has again made history in Major League Soccer, MLS, by setting a new record for the most goal contributions and assists in a single match during his sides dominant 6-2 win against the New York Red Bulls at Chase Stadium on Saturday night.

The former Barcelona forward produced a phenomenal display, with six goal contributions and five assists, cementing his place as a superstar in the league.

The Argentine has now scored and assisted in six consecutive league matches, a feat that has never been achieved before in MLS.

Speaking about Messi, Inter Miami head coach, Gerardo Martino could not resist praising his players stunning display, branding it as a historic moment in MLS history.

“All [goals] were fundamental to the game, but Leo did something historic tonight with five assists and one goal,” Inter Miami head coach Gerardo Martino said at his post-match interview.

“But I cant forget Suarezs three goals and Rojas two goals. The first, well both, but the first Rojas goal was amazing.

“But because of the technical aspect of Leo on the assist I will choose Luis Suárezs scissor goal as my favorite.”
