Police Thwart Robbery Attempt in Rivers State, Eliminate Three Suspects

In an impressive display of swift action, the Rivers State Police Command intercepted and thwarted an armed robbery endeavor along Prisigbara/Ken Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic Road in Khana Local Government Area. According to Grace Iringe-Koko, the spokesperson for the state command, the confrontation unfolded on Thursday, prompting a rapid response from operatives stationed at the Bori Division and the Anti-Cultism Unit in Bori.

Upon reaching the scene, law enforcement officers were met with gunfire from the assailants. Despite the initial exchange, the police effectively subdued the criminals, resulting in the neutralization of three of the suspects. Notably among them was a notorious individual identified as Oyoyo, aged 25, recognized for his involvement in cult-related activities and armed robbery within the Ogoni area of the state.

The statement issued by Iringe-Koko emphasized the police's commitment to maintaining peace and security within the community. Additionally, it highlighted the recovery of various incriminating items from the perpetrators, including firearms, a machete, and assorted charms.

Acknowledging community concerns regarding student harassment and robberies, particularly in densely populated areas, the police reassured residents of heightened patrols to ensure safety.
